Prime Minister: "there is no deal that comes without a backstop"

Following Sunday's Brussels summit, which saw EU leaders agree the withdrawal agreement with the UK, Prime Minister Theresa May made a statement to MPs today.
Leaders of the 27 other EU member states agreed to the deal in less than an hour. The Prime Minister has defended the deal in the House of Commons over the past two weeks. There has been a mixed response to the deal from MPs.
In defending her deal, the Prime Minister told MPs,
"There is no deal that comes without a backstop, and without a backstop there is no deal".
She also told the House,
"This is the right deal for Britain because it delivers on the democratic decision of the British people".
In response, Leader of the Opposition, Jeremy Corbyn said,
"The botched deal is a bad deal for this country and all yesterday did was mark the end of this Government's failed and miserable negotiations".
