Lords debates impact of Brexit on the arts

Members of the Lords, including a former director of English National Ballet and a former president of the National Campaign for the Arts, debated the impact on the arts of the UK's withdrawal from the EU, in the House of Lords on Thursday 11 October.

This was a general debate. They normally take place on a Thursday in the chamber. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.
The debate was proposed by Lord Bragg (Labour), broadcaster and former president of the National Campaign for the Arts

- Lord Berkeley of Knighton (Crossbench), former governor of the National Youth Orchestra
- Baroness Bonham-Carter of Yarnbury (Liberal Democrat), trustee of the Lowry Arts Centre, Salford Quays
- Baroness Hooper (Conservative), vice chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the British Museum
Viscount Younger of Leckie (Conservative), government whip and former Lords spokesperson in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, responded on behalf of the government.
