Brexit Secretary updated the House on EU negotiations

Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, Dominic Raab, gave an update on the Government's current Brexit negotiations and no deal contingency planning.
The Secretary of State stated that on Friday 31 August 2018, he was in Brussels for the fourth time since he became Secretary of State and that he had met with Michel Barnier. He also went on to state that the majority of the withdrawal agreement has been agreed. The Brexit Secretary also stated that over summer the Government has been preparing for the unlikely event of not reaching a deal with the EU.
Shadow Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, Keir Starmer, responded on behalf of the Opposition. He told the House that time is running out and that the October summit is on 18 to 19 October, which is 44 days away and that there were gaps in the Secretary of State's no deal strategy.
He went on to say that the Government must change course and put forward a credible plan that can command the support of the House, protect jobs and the economy, and avoid a hard border in Northern Ireland.
