The Under Secretary announced the launch of the Government's Victims Strategy, which sets out the Government's vision for victims of crime in England and Wales. He went on to state that the Government wanted a justice system that supports even more victims to speak up with the certainty that they will be understood, protected and supported, whether or not they report a crime and regardless of their circumstances or background.
The Shadow Minister for Justice, Gloria Del Piero, responded on behalf of the Opposition and welcomed the progress to assist victims of crime, but went on to state that there was a need for primary legislation to be set in place for victims' rights.
