Four short debates in the Lords

On Wednesday 12 September there were four short debates. These took place in the Moses Room, a room outside the Lords chamber used to host extra work. Any member can attend and participate, as with debates in the Lords chamber. The debates covered a range of subjects, including solutions to homelessness and a review of full-time volunteering.
Solutions to homelessness
This debate was proposed by Baroness Smith of Newnham (Liberal Democrat), senior lecturer in international politics, University of Cambridge. The debate discussed what actions the government is taking to find multi-agency solutions to homelessness.
Public access and digital content in museums and galleries
This debate was proposed by Lord Freyberg (Crossbench), member of House of Lords Works of Art Committee. The debate considered what steps the government is taking to encourage national museums and galleries to balance public access and commercial reuse of digital content.
Addiction in England and Wales
This debate was proposed by Lord Brooke of Alverthorpe (Labour), former trustee for Action on Addiction. The debate assessed the trends in different types of addiction in England Wales.

This debate was proposed by Baroness Scott of Needham Market (Liberal Democrat), chair of the England Volunteer Development Council. The debate considered what plans the government has to implement the recommendations of the independent review of full-time social action carried out by Steve Holliday.
