Prime Minister provides update on Salisbury incident

The Prime Minister, Theresa May, made a statement in the House of Commons on Wednesday 5 September 2018, updating MPs on the Salisbury incident.
The incident took place in March 2018. Two individuals - Sergei and Yulia Skripal - were poisoned in the city of Salisbury in Wiltshire. Investigations pointed to the nerve agent Novichok as the source of the poisoning. In July, two other individuals - Dawn Sturgess and Charlie Rowley - were found to have also been poisoned.
The Prime Minister's statement to the House followed the announcement that two suspects - Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov - had been identified as suspects for this attack. She told MPs, "we will not tolerate such barbaric attacks against our country. Together with our allies, this Government will continue to do whatever is necessary to keep our people safe".
In response, Opposition Leader Jeremy Corbyn said:
"We utterly condemn the appalling attacks. We commend the police and security services for their diligence in investigating this appalling crime, and we will support any reasonable action to bring those responsible to justice and to take further action against Russia for its failure to co-operate with this investigation."
