Commons holds general debate on potential future free trade agreements

Today in the House of Commons, MPs are to take part in a general debate on the potential future free trade agreements and the Australia, New Zealand, US & Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership.
The debate is expected to commence after the Business Statement from the Leader of the House.

What is a general debate?
General debates give MPs an opportunity to discuss a topic - chosen by the Government - in the Chamber of the House of Commons. Members take it in turns to speak and there are rules and conventions that are followed.
