Urgent question as Flybmi goes into administration

Shadow Transport Secretary, Andy McDonald, asked an urgent question on airline Flybmi going into administration.
The company collapsed on Saturday, leading to thousands of flight cancellations. Flybmi said its trading and future prospects had been “seriously affected by the uncertainty created by the Brexit process”.
Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Department for Transport), Nusrat Ghani responded to the urgent question and stated:
"The Government's immediate priority is fully focused on supporting those affected [...] We and the Civil Aviation Authority are working closely with the travel industry to ensure the situation is managed"
She said that many of those whose jobs were at risk were highly skilled and that the Government was confident they would find jobs and that work was underway to ensure they were supported. She said the airline's failure was unfortunate, but the result of a lack of commercial success.
Andy McDonald, replied to the Transport Secretary blamed the Government for failing to protect passengers and airlines, he said,
"When will this Government wake up to the undeniable truth that its shambolic handling of Brexit is leading our country into an economic disaster"
