Having passed all its House of Lords stages, the Courts and Tribunals (Online Procedure) Bill was debated by MPs in the Commons for the first time on Tuesday 16 July 2019.
MPs approved it without division.

Summary of the Bill
The Courts and Tribunals (Online Procedure) Bill establishes a new Online Procedure Rules framework which enables parties to civil, family or tribunal proceedings to use an online procedure.
It would establish an Online Procedure Rule Committee (OPRC). The role of the Committee will be to provide new, simple online rules which are intelligible to, and easily navigable by, all people who rely on the courts system.
