Secretary of State for Health, Matt Hancock, updated the House of Commons on the implementation of the NHS Long Term Plan.

The statement follows the announcement of the long term plan in June 2018.

Hancock outlined proposals for the vital areas of cancer care, mental health services, and staffing over the next 10 years, saying,

“We are determined to make sure that the Long term Plan fulfils its potential to transform the Health Service for the better.”

Responding on behalf of the Opposition, Shadow Health Secretary, Jonathan Ashworth Jonathan Ashworth questioned the Health Secretary about health inequalities, adult social care provisions, mental health care for young people and private health care services.
