Lords debates post-18 education and funding

On Tuesday 2 July, members of the House of Lords debated the Review of Post-18 Education and Funding led by Philip Augar.

Members taking part included a former Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education and the chair of the Higher Education Commission.

This was a general debate. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.

The debate was proposed by Viscount Younger of Leckie (Conservative), Lords spokesperson for higher education in the Department for Education, who also responded on behalf of the government.

  • Lord Layard (Labour), former deputy director of the Higher Education Research Unit, London School of Economics
