Lords debates Sustainable Development Goals ahead of UN meeting

On Wednesday 10 July, members of the House of Lords debated the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, ahead of the UN meeting in September, which will review progress and implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

This debate took place in Grand Committee, a room outside the Lords chamber. Any member can take part, as with debates in the chamber.

This was a general debate. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.

The debate was proposed by  Baroness Sugg (Conservative), parliamentary under-secretary in the Department for International Development, who also responded on behalf of the government.
