Tulip Siddiq MP is asking an urgent question in the House of Commons following reports Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has been admitted to a hospital psychiatric ward.

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was arrested at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Airport in April 2016 for alleged spying.

Dr Andrew Murrison, Minister of State (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) (Joint with the Department for International Development) responded to MPs, saying:

"We are lobbying the Iranian Authorities to ensure her family are able to visit her as soon as possible, as well as continuing to lobby for consular access so we can check on her care as a matter of urgency."

Tulip Siddiq pressed the Minister for further action, saying:

"I know that [the Minister] has made time to meet with the husband of Nazanin and the family, and has taken time to speak to me personally as well. But I say this because the time for sentiment is now over. This has gone on for too long, and we need to see decisive action right now, today."
