Urgent question on Personal Independence Payments

SNP Spokesperson for Fair Work and Employment, Chris Stephens, asked an urgent question in the Commons on last week's Supreme Court ruling on Personal Independence Payments.
This follows a Supreme Court judgment last Thursday which could entitle individuals with mental health problems and disabilities to claim Personal Independence Payments.
Responding to the urgent question, the Minister of State for the Department for Work and Pensions, Justin Tomlinson, told MPs;
"[…] and that is why we will now carefully consider the full judgement and working with disabled people and engaging with MIND and other stakeholders we will implement it fully and fairly so the claimants get the PIP support they are now entitled to."
Following up on his urgent question, Chris Stephens thanked the Minister and asked;
"[…] it is clear now that PIP assessments need overhaul and that once again we find the situation that the process discriminates those with psychological conditions."
