Lords debates policymaking and future generations

On Thursday 20 June, members of the House of Lords debated the case for better protecting and representing the interests of future generations in policymaking.
Members taking part included the founder of the Big Issue, a former teacher and a trustee of Unicef UK.

This was a balloted debate. They normally take place on a Thursday in the chamber. During debates members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing government's attention to concerns.
The debate was proposed by Lord Bird (Crossbench), co-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Future Generations.
