This week in the Commons, MPs approved the remaining Commons stages of the Wild Animals in Circuses (No. 2) Bill, debated invisible disabilities, the Grenfell Fire response and more.
Legislation: Government Bills
Wild Animals in Circuses (No.2) Bill
The Wild Animals in Circuses (No.2) Bill passed its remaining stages in the Commons on Tuesday 3 June 2019. It now passes to the House of Lords for further scrutiny.
This Bill would make it an offence for "wild animals" to be used in travelling circuses. Wild animals are defined in the Bill as animals not commonly domesticated in Great Britain. Travelling circuses that use wild animals will have until 20 January 2020 to stop doing so.
