18 June 2019 (updated on 18 June 2019)
MP for South Leicestershire, Alberto Costa asked an urgent question in the Commons today on EU/British Citizens' rights.
Exiting the EU Minister Robin Walker responded to the urgent question and said:
"I'd like to reaffirm that citizens' rights has been a priority throughout the negotiations and is an area that both the Government and this House takes extremely seriously."
Responding to the Government, Alberto Costa told MPs:
"It is inconceivable that a British Government - let alone a Conservative Government - could allow the rights of British nationals working, living, studying in the EU to vaporise overnight on 31 October."
