Children Act 1989 (Amendment) (Female Genital Mutilation) Bill: Remaining Stages

Today MPs in the House of Commons debated the remaining stages of the Children Act 1989 (Amendment) (Female Genital Mutilation) Bill.
Having started in the House of Lords, this Bill was considered by a Public Bill Committee and returned unamended to the House of Commons for its remaining stages.
As no further changes were made, it passed third reading without a division and now awaits Royal Assent.

What is the Children Act 1989 (Amendment) (Female Genital Mutilation) Bill?
The Children Act 1989 (Amendment) (Female Genital Mutilation) Bill makes a one-line amendment to the Children Act 1989. This would allow FGM protection orders, legislated for in the Female Genital Mutilation Act 2003, to be made in family court.
