Four short debates in the Lords

On Tuesday 14 May there were four short debates in the Lords on the uptake of vaccinations, grooming gangs, attacks on journalists and wild salmon stocks.
These debates took place in Grand Committee, away from the chamber. Any member can take part, as with debates in the chamber.
Vaccinations and health screening
This debate was proposed by Baroness Walmsley (Liberal Democrat), Lords Liberal Democrat spokesperson for health.
The debate discussed the promotion of vaccinations and health screening services.
Grooming gangs
This debate was proposed by Baroness Cox (Crossbench), founder and chief executive Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust.
The debate considered the prevention of grooming gangs in Rotherham and elsewhere, and assisting victims and their families.
Attacks on journalists and the media
This debate was proposed by Lord Chidgey (Liberal Democrat), former member of the Joint Committee on Human Rights.
The debate considered the effectiveness of international measures to curb attacks on journalists and the media.
Wild salmon stocks
This debate was proposed by the Earl of Shrewsbury (Conservative), former president British Sports Shooting Council.
The debate discussed wild salmon stocks in the UK, in particular, in Scotland.
