The House of Lords teamed up with the Ramadan Tent Project to host an open iftar in Trafalgar Square on Thursday 30 May.

1,000 people took part in the evening meal, hosted jointly by the Ramadan Tent Project (RTP) and the House of Lords.

RTP, a community-based social enterprise, has hosted a series of open iftars in partnership with organisations such as Westminster Abbey and Wembley Stadium.

Members of staff from the Lords Administration volunteered at the public event, and Lord Dubs (Labour) delivered the keynote speech for the evening along with the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.
