Legislation: Government Bills
Wild Animals in Circuses (No. 2) Bill
There has been a long running campaign to ban the use of wild animals in travelling circuses. The Wild Animals in Circuses (No2) Bill will introduce a ban in England and passed its second reading on 7 May 2019. A ban already exists in Scotland and there are proposals for a ban in Wales.
Legislation: Private Members' Bills
Two Private Members' Bills was introduced to the House following a Ten Minute Rule Motions this week:
Urgent questions and ministerial statements
This week urgent questions were asked on:

Opposition day debates
On Wednesday 8 May, MPs debated TV licences for the over-75s, . The subject for debate was chosen by the Official Opposition.
Backbench business debates
On Thursday 9 May, MPs debated acquired brain injury and the 25th anniversary of the death of John Smith. The subject for debate was chosen by the Official Opposition.
