No changes were suggested to the bill ahead of committee stage. Members discussed the progress of the bill at the conclusion of its Lords stages.
Following completion of third reading, the bill now goes to the Commons for its consideration.
Historical Institutional Abuse (Northern Ireland) Bill summary
This bill aims to:
- establish a Historical Abuse Redress Board to administer a publicly funded compensation scheme
- create a statutory Commissioner for Survivors of Institutional Childhood Abuse.
