Lords debates UK's withdrawal from the EU

On Wednesday 2 October, members of the House of Lords debated the UK's withdrawal from the European Union. Members taking part included a former member of the Lords EU Committee, a former shadow spokesperson for exiting the EU and a former secretary of state for Northern Ireland.

This was a general debate. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.

The debate was proposed by Lord Callanan (Conservative), minister of state in the Department for Exiting the European Union, who also responded on behalf of the government.
