Opposition ask for answers on recent MoJ IT issues

Shadow Justice Minister, Yasmin Qureshi asked for an update on the recent IT issues which affected the Ministry of Justice.
The Official Opposition, asked the Government to provide further details following the recent IT failures which affected the Ministry of Justice.
The network disruption occurred in the past week and affected devices connected to the main MoJ network.
The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice, Lucy Frazer, responded to the urgent question and updated the House on the situation. She apologised to those who were affected and said the issue was caused by an infrastructure failure in the MoJ's suppliers data centre.
The Under-Secretary expressed the Government's disappoinment in the suppliers inability to fully restore the network issues. She confirmed the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Justice, Sir Richard Heaton, will be meeting with the Chief Executive of Atos and will be writing personally to all members of the judiciary.
Shadow Justice Minister, Yasmin Qureshi, replied to the Under-Secretary and blamed cuts to the Ministry of Justice. She also asked for further details on the costs incurred due to the IT failure and asked if any defendents had been released before their trials due to the IT failure.
