The UK Parliament is pleased to announce a partnership with Lifetime Training and Newham College that will see up to 25 new apprentices start work on the Parliamentary Estate.

The apprenticeships are in fields including operations, retail, HR, customer service, project management, digital services, accountancy, engineering, plumbing and property maintenance on the Parliamentary Estate.

Working at Parliament is a dynamic and rewarding career, with hundreds of job roles across a variety of sectors all contributing to ensuring the heart of UK democracy runs effectively.

Parliament aims to improve the representation of people in our workforce, to ensure we are reaching out to the widest pool of talent, and representing Parliament in a positive and inclusive light.  The long term goal is for our workforce to be representative of the people we serve, be a respected institution, and demonstrate our commitment to being an inclusive workplace where people feel valued.

Pippa Stanier-Moore, UK Parliament Talent Consultant welcomed the partnership:

“We are delighted to be partnering with Lifetime Training and Newham College, including their wider network of colleges and training providers. It is a very exciting time as we continue to develop and expand our apprenticeships for Parliament.”

Apprentices will be based on the Estate, and will work with senior staff at the UK Parliament to develop their knowledge and skills. They will also benefit from classroom training and support from apprenticeship partners.

The roles are open to external applicants and internal staff. The first apprenticeships are due on the estate in early January 2019.

For further detail on the roles, see the Newham College website and Lifetime Training website, as well as the House of Commons careers website.
