Tulip Siddiq, MP for Hampstead and Kilburn, asked the Foreign Office to provide an update on the case of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, following recent actions taken against her in Iran.

MP for Hampstead and Kilburn, Tulip Siddiq, asked the Foreign Office to respond to an urgent question on the case of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, following recent reports on how authorities in Iran have cancelled Nazanin's weekly telephone calls to her husband.

Minister of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Alistair Burt responded on behalf of the Government saying:

“We have repeatedly asked the Iranians to release Miss Zaghari-Ratcliffe on humanitarian grounds and I do so again today.”

Tulip Siddiq MP followed up by asking if the Foreign Secretary “will make a decision on whether to grant Nazanin with diplomatic protection, which is something we have been asking for, for a long time.”
