Government questioned on the EU (Withdrawal) (No.2 Act) 2019

Following the Supreme Court's judgment that the prorogation of Parliament was unlawful, Ian Murray MP asked the Prime Minister to make a statement on the EU (Withdrawal) (No.2 Act) 2019.
James Duddridge MP, The Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Exiting the European Union told MPs;
Ian Murray responded saying;"The Act makes provision for a potential range of outcomes, not one outcome. The outcome this Government wants, the outcome this Government has always wanted, is a deal with the European Union. That deal can deliver the mandate of the British people, that deal is possible and is now within reach."
"That Act says quite clearly that the Prime Minister must seek an extension to Article 50 to 31 January if the Prime Minister is unable to meet the two conditions of either having a withdrawal deal passed by this House or having an affirmative vote by this House to back no-deal."
