Lords debates Spending Round 2019

Members of the House of Lords will debate the government's Spending Review 2019 on Wednesday 25 September. Members expected to take part include a former member of council for Lloyds of London and the Liberal Democrat spokesperson on Treasury and economy.

- What is a debate?
This will be a general debate. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.
The debate was proposed by Lord Duncan of Springbank (Conservative), who will also respond on behalf of the government.
Members taking part are expected to include:
- Lord Davies of Stamford (Labour), former member of council, Lloyds of London
- Bishop of Durham (Bishops), trustee of Safe Families for Children
- Baroness Kramer (Liberal Democrats), spokesperson on Treasury and economy
- Lord Ricketts (Crossbench), former ambassador to France and former UK National Security Advisor
- Lord Young of Cookham (Conservative), former parliamentary secretary to the Treasury
