1 May 2020
Members of the Lords ask the government for their assessment of the number of people living in poverty, as a result of COVID-19, and what steps are being taken to support them, in a virtual session on Thursday 30 April.
Speakers include president of the Money Advice Trust and chairman of the Social Metric Commission.
This is a Question for Short Debate. During debates, members put their experience to good use to discuss current issues and draw the government's attention to concerns.

Speakers include:
- Baroness Coussins (Crossbench), president, Money Advice Trust
- Baroness Lister of Burtersett (Labour), president, Social Policy Association
- Lord Oates (Liberal Democrat), former local councillor
- Baroness Stroud (Conservative), chairman, Social Metrics Commission
Baroness Stedman-Scott (Conservative), Parliamentary Under-Secretary in the Department for Work and Pensions, responds on behalf of the government.
