Lords discusses impact of Covid-19 on prisoners

Members of the Lords ask the government for their assessment of the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic on the prison population and offender rehabilitation programmes, in a virtual session on Thursday 23 April.
Speakers include the former chair of the Independent Advisory Panel on Deaths in Custody and the President of Unlock, the National Association of Ex-Prisoners.

Lord German (Liberal Democrats), former Deputy First Minister in the National Assembly for Wales, put forward the debate.

Lord Keen of Elie (Conservative), Lords spokesperson in the Ministry for Justice, will respond on behalf of the government.
