Coming up in the Commons: 14-18 December

All business is subject to change.

Monday

The House will sit from 2.30pm. Proceedings will start with questions to the Home Secretary. For a complete list of questions see the Order of Business on the day or use the Question Book to read questions in advance.

There will be the following ministerial statements:

  • Health Secretary - Covid-19 update
  • Minister for Business, Energy and Clean Growth - Energy White Paper

The main business will be, if necessary, the consideration of Lords amendments to the UK Internal Market Bill. There will also be a general debate on Covid-19. 

Tuesday

Proceedings will begin at 11.30am with questions to the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Secretary. For a complete list of questions see the Order of Business on the day or use the Question Book to read questions in advance.

There will be the following ministerial statement:

  • Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport - Full Government response to Online Harms Consultation

MPs will then, if necessary, consider Lords amendments. There will then be debate on the remaining stages of the Taxation (Post-Transition Period) Bill.

Wednesday

MPs will meet at 11.30am, starting with questions to the Welsh Secretary. For a complete list of questions see the Order of Business on the day or use the Question Book to read questions in advance.

Prime Minister's Questions will follow.

There will be the following urgent questions:

  • Caroline Nokes – To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if she will make a statement on whether the changes to the Immigration Rules laid last week will reduce the numbers of asylum seekers in supported accommodation. 
  • Sir Iain Duncan Smith - To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs if he will make a statement on what the UK Government us doing to deal with the overwhelming evidence of the Chinese Governments use of Uyghur Slave Labour in Xinjiang Region. 

The House will then, if necessary, consider Lords amendments.

Thursday

The House will sit from 9.30am on Thursday, starting with questions to the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Cabinet Office. For a complete list of questions see the Order of Business on the day or use the Question Book to read questions in advance.

Following this, MPs will ask Business Questions to the Leader of the House.

There will be the following ministerial statements:

  • Secretary of State for Health and Social Care - Covid-19 update 
  • Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government - Provisional Local Government Finance Settlement 

The main business of the day will be, if necessary, the consideration of Lords amendments and matters to be raised before the forthcoming adjournment.

Friday

The House will not sit on Friday.
