Lords debates NHS performance targets

Members of the House of Lords debated the NHS's performance relating to priority area targets, the impact of adult social care pressures and patient safety, on Thursday 6 February. Speakers included an emeritus professor of nursing at Plymouth University and the president of the Association of Physicians.

This was a general debate. They normally take place on a Thursday in the chamber. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.
The debate was proposed by Lord Hunt of Kings Heath (Labour), president of the Royal Society of Public Health.

Baroness Blackwood of North Oxford (Conservative), Parliamentary Under-Secretary in the Department of Health and Social Care, responded on behalf of the government.
