Lords debates economic lessons of Covid-19

Members of the Lords debated the economic lessons learned from the Covid-19 pandemic and the measures necessary to repair the UK economy.
Speakers included two former Chancellors of the Exchequer and a non-executive director of the London Stock Exchange.
This was a general debate. During debates, members put their experience to good use to discuss current issues and draw the government's attention to concerns.
Lord Eatwell (Labour), Emeritus Professor of Financial Policy, University of Cambridge, put forward the debate.
Speakers included:
- Baroness Bowles of Berkhamstead (Liberal Democrats), non-executive director of the London Stock Exchange
- Lord Darling of Roulainsh (Labour) and Lamont of Lerwick (Conservative), former Chancellors of the Exchequer
- Lord Kerslake (Crossbench), former commissioner of the IPPR Commission on Economic Justice
- Baroness Ritchie of Downpatrick (Non-affiliated), management consultant and director of the Centre for Health and Wellbeing.
Lord Agnew of Oulton (Conservative), Minister of State in HM Treasury, responded on behalf of the government.
