The House of Lords will pay tribute to the former Clerk of the Parliaments Ed Ollard following his retirement and the new post-holder Simon Burton will make his declaration on Tuesday 13 April.
Ed Ollard's retirement
Led by the Leader of the House of Lords, Baroness Evans of Bowes Park (Conservative), members will pay tribute to the work of Ed Ollard as Clerk of the Parliaments from midday in the chamber.
New Clerk of the Parliaments
Clerk of the Parliaments Simon Burton will make his declaration following speeches from the leaders of the parties and groups in the House of Lords.
Simon, who was appointed in February, started work in the role on Friday 2 April and took up his first day of duties in the chamber on Monday 12 April. He is the 65th post-holder.
Clerk of the Parliaments
The Clerk of the Parliaments is head of the Lords Administration and its most senior official. The Clerks of Parliaments employs the House's staff, is responsible for its management, administration and finances, and has responsibilities in the chamber during business.
