Coming up in the Commons: 22-26 February 2021

We’ve put together a list of highlights to keep you on top of the legislation, debates and questions coming up this week that you need to know about.

Monday
The House will sit from 2.30pm on Monday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, Robert Jenrick MP.
The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson MP will make a statement on Covid-19.
Main business will begin with a general debate on Covid-19.
Tuesday
MPs will meet from 11.30am on Tuesday. MPs will question the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock MP.
Main business will begin with Opposition Day debates on:
- the Government’s management of the economy
- supporting businesses and individuals through the coronavirus crisis are now taking place.
Wednesday
Proceedings will begin from 11.30am on Wednesday, starting with questions to the President of COP26 (UN Climate Change Conference), Alok Sharma MP.
Prime Minister's Questions will take place at 12 noon.
After Prime Minister's Questions, there will be two urgent questions from:
- Rachel Reeves MP on the recent judicial review ruling which found the Government had acted unlawfully in respect of Covid contracts.
- Andy McDonald MP on the Supreme Court’s ruling on Uber.
MPs will also consider Lords amendments to the:
- Fire Safety Bill
- Covert Human Intelligence Sources (Criminal Conduct) Bill
- Telecommunications Infrastructure (Leasehold Property) Bill
Thursday
The House will sit from 9.30am on Thursday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for International Trade, Liz Truss MP.
This will be followed by Business Questions to the Leader of the House of Commons, Mr Jacob Rees-Mogg MP.
There will then be two statements questions from:
- Education Secretary, Gavin Williamson MP on education return and awarding qualifications in 2021.
- Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, Robert Jenrick MP on an update on rough sleeping.
This will be followed by a Select Committee Statement from Philip Dunne MP, chair of the Environmental Audit Committee, on the publication of the Third Report from the Committee, Growing back better: putting nature and net zero at the heart of the economic recovery.
Main business will begin with Backbench business debates on:
- Proposal for a national education route map for schools and colleges in response to the covid-19 outbreak
- Welsh Affairs
Friday
The House will not sit on Friday.
