On 30 December 2020, MPs approved a motion to extend arrangements for virtual participation in the Chamber.

Monday 11 January

The House will sit from 2.30pm. Proceedings will start with questions to the Department for Housing, Communities and Local Government. For a complete list of questions see the Order of Business and Call List on the day or use the Question Book to read questions in advance.

There will be two statements:

  1. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak MP - Economic Update
  2. Minister for COVID Vaccine Deployment, Nadhim Zahawi MP - Covid-19 Update 

The main business of the day will begin with a General Debate on Global Britain.

Tuesday 12 January

Proceedings will begin at 11.30am with questions to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. For a complete list of questions see the Order of Business and Call List on the day or use the Question Book to read questions in advance.

There will be two statements:

  1. Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab MP - An update to the Government’s response to the forced labour in Xinjiang.
  2. Secretary of State for Defence, Ben Wallace MP - Defence support to the Covid-19 response 

Main business will begin with a General Debate on Covid-19.

Wednesday 13 January

MPs will meet at 11.30am, starting with questions to the Minister for Women and Equalities. For a complete list of questions see the Order of Business and Call List on the day or use the Question Book to read questions in advance.

Prime Minister's Questions will follow.

There will be two urgent questions:

  1. Rt. Hon Sir Jeffrey Donaldson MP - To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office if he will make a statement on the disruption to trade between Great Britain and Northern Ireland as a result of the Northern Ireland Protocol.
  2. Cat Smith MP - To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office if he will make a statement on the May 2021 elections. 

Health Secretary, Matt Hancock MP will make a statement on the Mental Health Act Reform.

MPs will also debate the remaining stages of the Financial Services Bill.

Thursday 14 January

The House will sit from 9.30am on Thursday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for International Trade. For a complete list of questions see the Order of Business and Call List on the day or use the Question Book to read questions in advance.

Following this, MPs will ask Business Questions to the Leader of the House.

There will be one ministerial statement:

  1. Alistair Carmichael - To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs if he will make a statement on the consequences of the EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement as it applies to the fishing industry.

There will also be the following urgent question:

  1. Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Safeguarding), Victoria Atkins - Measures to tackle domestic abuse and hidden harms during lockdown.

There will be Backbench business debates on:

  • Long covid
  • Effect of covid-19 on dental services

Friday 15 January

Friday 15 January is a sitting Friday. The House generally only sits on thirteen Fridays in a session to consider Private Members' Bills (PMBs), but can agree to sit on other Fridays when government business would take precedence. The House will sit from 9.30am.
