The House of Lords debated the main purpose and key principles of three private members' bills during second reading on Friday 25 June.
These draft laws address the wellbeing of future generations, guidance and support for whistleblowers and cheating services for students.
What is a private members’ bill?
A private member's bill is a type of public bill introduced by an individual member of the House, rather than the government. Public bills affect everyone. Private members' bills must go through the same stages as other public bills.
