House of Lords Thursday debates

The House of Lords debates anti-slavery projects, NHS staffing, support for hauliers and the UK space industry on Thursday 4 March.
Four short debates ('Questions for Short Debate') take place one Thursday every five weeks in Grand Committee, work away from the main chamber.

Lord Frost (Conservative), Cabinet Office Minister, and Lord Johnson of Marylebone will make their first speech in the House of Lords ('maiden speech') during the space industry debate.
Over 100 speakers are taking part (external website) in the debates, bringing a wide range of experience and professional knowledge to the subjects under discussion.
Debates are an opportunity for members to discuss important current issues and draw the government’s attention to concerns. A government minister or spokesperson (external website) responds at the end to the issues raised in the debate.
