We’ve put together a list of highlights to keep you on top of the legislation, debates and questions coming up in the Commons.

Monday

The House will sit from 2.30pm on Monday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Defence, Ben Wallace MP.

There will be the following urgent questions taking place:

  • Tom Tugendhat MP - To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs if he will make a statement on what measures he has taken to respond to the interception of a civilian aircraft by a Belarusian fighter and the detention of a journalist.
  • Julian Knight MP - To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport if he will make a statement on the findings of Lord Dyson’s report into the BBC. 
  • Chris Bryant MP - To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when she will publish the report of the Independent Panel into the death of Daniel Morgan. 

Main business will begin with the remaining stages of the Finance Bill.

Tuesday

The House will sit from 11:30am on Tuesday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Kwasi Kwarteng MP.

There will be the following urgent questions taking place:

  • Jonathan Ashworth MP - To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care if he will make a statement on Covid-19. 
  • Alex Davies-Jones MP - To ask the Attorney General if he will make a statement on when the Government’s end-to-end review of the criminal justice system response to rape will be published. 

Main business will begin with the remaining stages of the Telecommunications (Security) Bill.

Wednesday

The House will sit from 11:30am on Wednesday, starting with questions to the Minister for Women and Equalities, Liz Truss MP.

Prime Minister’s Questions will take place at 12 noon.

Main business will begin with the remaining stages of the Environment Bill (Day 2).

Thursday

The House will sit from 9:30am on Thursday, starting with questions to the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, and Minister for the Cabinet Office, Michael Gove MP.

There will be the following urgent questions taking place:

  • Jonathan Ashworth MP - To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care if he will make a statement on the Government’s handling of the Covid-19 and his Department’s level of preparedness prior to the pandemic. 
  • Emily Thornberry MP - To ask the Secretary of State for International Trade if she will make a statement on the UK’s proposed tariff offer to the Australian government on their agricultural exports. 

Main business will begin with two general debates on:

  • Dementia Action Week
  • Implementing the 2020 Obesity Strategy

Friday

The House will be in recess and will next sit on Monday 7 June.
