Coming Up in the Commons: 13 -17 September

We’ve put together a list of highlights coming up this week in the House of Commons Chamber.

For a complete list of questions and updates on urgent questions and statements see the Order of Business on the day or the Question Book for questions in advance. 

 

Monday 13 September

The House will sit from 2.30pm on Monday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.

The main business will be the committee and remaining stages of the Dissolution and Calling of Parliament Bill.

Tuesday 14 September

MPs will meet from 11.30am on Tuesday. Proceedings will start with questions to the Secretary of State for Justice.

Main business will start with the Health and Social Care Levy Bill.

Wednesday 15 September

Proceedings will begin from 11.30am on Wednesday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Wales.

Prime Minister’s Questions will take place at 12 noon. 

Main business will begin with opposition day debates [subjects to be announced]

Thursday 16 September

The House will sit from 9.30am on Thursday. MPs will ask questions to the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. This will be followed by questions to the Attorney General.

Business Questions to the Leader of the House will follow.

The main business will be two Backbench business debates on:

  • Role and response of the devolved Administrations to COP26
  • Proposed reforms to the criminal justice system to better respond to families bereaved by public disasters

Friday 17 September

The House will not be sitting.
