Here is an overview of debates scheduled in the Commons Chamber over the coming week. Please note, this business was announced in the Commons Chamber by the Leader of the House of Commons, Penny Mordaunt MP, on Thursday 8 December. It is possible that changes will be made to the schedule of business throughout the week. This page will be updated should changes be made.

Monday 12 December 

The House will sit at 2.30pm, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Defence,Ben Wallace. The main business will be the remaining stages of the Trade (Australia and New Zealand) Bill. 

This will be followed by a motion to approve the Draft Voter Identification Regulations 2022 and then a motion on Standards: Code of Conduct and a Guide to the Rules.

Tuesday 13 December 

Proceedings will start at 11.30am on Tuesday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, James Cleverly. 

The main business will be the remaining stages of the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill.

Wednesday 14 December 

The House will sit at 11.30am on Wednesday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Chris Heaton-Harris. 

Prime Minister’s Questions will take place at 12 midday. The main business will be a General Debate on Ukraine, followed by an Opposition Half Day (10th Allotted Day First Part) Debate in the name of the Scottish National Party.

Thursday 15 December 

The House will sit at 9.30am on Thursday, starting with questions Secretary of State for International Trade, Kemi Badenoch. 

The main business will be:  

  • Debate on a motion on self-disconnection of pre-payment meters. 
  • General debate on rail transport services to the communities served by the West Coast main line. 

The subjects for these debates were determined by the Backbench Business Committee.
