Here is a roundup of what’s coming up next week in the House of Commons Chamber.

Monday 7 February 

The House will sit from 2.30pm on Monday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Thérèse Coffey.  

The main business will be a Motion to approve the Social Security Benefits Up-rating Order 2022 and the Guaranteed Minimum Pensions Increase Order 2022. This will be followed by a consideration of Lords amendments to the Northern Ireland (Ministers, Elections and Petitions of Concern) Bill.

Tuesday 8 February 

The House will sit at 11.30am on Tuesday, starting with questions to the Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice, Dominic Raab. 

The main business will an Opposition Day debate.

Wednesday 9 February 

Proceedings will begin from 11.30am on Wednesday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Wales, Simon Hart. 

Prime Minister’s Questions will take place at 12 noon.  

The main business will be motions relating to the police grant and local government finance reports.

Thursday 10 February  

The House will sit from 9.30am on Thursday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Nadine Dorries. This will be followed by questions to the Attorney General, Suella Braverman

The main business will be two debates: 

  • Debate on a motion on UK-Taiwan friendship and cooperation. 
  • General debate on dementia research in the UK.  

The subjects for these debates were determined by the Backbench Business Committee.

The House will be in recess from Friday 11 February and will sit again Monday 21 February.
