House of Commons rises for February recess

The House of Commons adjourned on Thursday 10 February for February recess and will next sit on Monday 21 February at 2.30pm.

Wednesday 23 February:
- Opposition Day (13th allotted day) debate on a motion in the name of the official position. Subject to be announced.
- Prime Minister’s Questions
Thursday 24 February:
- Debate on a motion on the UK’s relationship with Russia and China
- General debate on the matter of the UK government recognition of the state of Palestine alongside the state of Israel. Subjects determined by the Backbench Business Committee

What is a recess?
A recess is a break during the parliamentary session (year) in which neither the House of Commons or the House of Lords meets to conduct business.
During periods called recesses, MPs and Members of the House of Lords can carry out their other duties.
The exact pattern of recesses can change and is usually slightly different for the two Houses of Parliament.
