Here is a roundup of what’s coming up in the House of Commons Chamber for 10-14 January 2022.

Monday 10 January 

The House will sit from 2.30pm on Monday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Defence, Ben Wallace. 

The main business will be the remaining stages of the Nuclear Energy (Financing) Bill 

This will be followed by debates on motions to approve the Charter for Budget Responsibility: Autumn 2021 update and the Welfare Cap as specified in the Autumn Budget and Spending Review 2021.

Tuesday 11 January 

The House will sit at 11.30am on Tuesday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Kwasi Kwarteng 

The main business will be an Opposition Day debate.

Wednesday 12 January 

Proceedings will begin from 11.30am on Wednesday, starting with questions to the Minister for Women and Equalities, Elizabeth Truss. 

Prime Minister’s Questions will take place at 12 noon. 

The main business will be the remaining stages of the Commercial Rent (Coronavirus) Bill. This will be followed by motions to approve a Money Resolution and a Ways and Means Resolution relating to the Glue Traps (Offences) Bill

Thursday 13 January  

The House will sit from 9.30am on Thursday, starting with questions to Cabinet Office ministers.  

The main business will be two general debates: 

  • General debate on the ongoing detention of Bahraini political prisoners. 
  • Report of the Joint Committee on the Draft Online Safety Bill. 

The subjects for these debates were determined by the Backbench Business Committee.

Friday 14 January
