What's on in the Lords 4-8 July

Highlights of what’s coming up this week:
Questions
Look out for questions on the impact of increasing numbers of people working from home, preventing avoidable deaths caused by paramedic service delays, the shortage of workers in England, and ensuring secure, affordable, and sustainable supplies of food.
Bills
Members are expected to continue further examination of the UK Infrastructure Bank Bill and Identity and Language (Northern Ireland) Bill at report stage, begin line by line examination of the Procurement Bill and will debate the key principles of several private members' bills on Friday, including the Clean Air (Human Rights) Bill, Front-loaded Child Benefit Bill and the Universal Credit (Removal of Two Child Limit) Bill.
Debates
Members will debate the impact of the current sewage disposal rates into rivers and the responsibility of water companies, aid and the global control of malaria, and the welfare of mothers and dependent children arriving from Ukraine as refugees.

Members continued detailed examination of the UK Infrastructure Bank Bill at report stage.
In Grand Committee, work away from the chamber, members began a detailed, line by line examination of the Procurement Bill on day 1 of committee stage.
Tuesday 5 July
Questions
Members questioned the government for 40 minutes on:
- humanitarian and security situation in Nigeria
- money laundering regulations and Politically Exposed Persons
- decision to fine Clearview AI Inc.
- allowing agency staff to cover striking workers.
Debates
Members debated the Procedure and Privileges Committee report: ‘Sitting times of the House’ and consider potential changes to sitting times.

Members of the House of Lords debated regulations for the following:
Wednesday 6 July
Questions
Members quizzed the government on the following topics:
- folic acid fortification in flour
- access to the drug Liothyronine (T3) for the treatment of hypothyroidism
- shortage of workers in England
- defence: spending priorities.
Motion to regret
Members debated a 'motion to regret' immigration and nationality regulations regarding the fees for the registration process of a child's right to citizenship. Baroness Lister of Burtersett (Labour), put forward the motion.
Legislation
Members of the Lords began further examination of the Identity and Language (Northern Ireland) Bill at report stage.
In Grand Committee, work away from the chamber, members continued to examine the Procurement Bill on day 2 of committee stage.
Thursday 7 July
Questions
Members questioned the government for 40 minutes on:
- national food strategy
- household waste recycling rates in England
- support for people struggling to keep warm in winter
- Horizon Europe: the UK's alternative plans.
Debates
Members debated the following topics:
- the impact of the current sewage disposal rates and the responsibility of water companies
- the relationship between the health of the nation and good food production.
Short Debates
Members debated the global control of malaria, and neglected tropical diseases.
In Grand Committee, members debated:
- improving the ability of musicians and other creative professionals from the United Kingdom to work and tour in the European Union
- the needs of mothers and dependent children arriving from Ukraine as refugees.
