Here is an overview of debates scheduled in the Commons Chamber over the coming week. Please note, this business was announced in the Commons Chamber by the Leader of the House of Commons, Penny Mordaunt MP, on Thursday 3 November. Monday 7 November

The House will sit at 2.30pm, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Defence, Ben Wallace. The main business will be the second reading of the Social Housing (Regulation) Bill [Lords].

Tuesday 8 November

Proceedings will start at 11.30am on Tuesday, starting with questions to the Foreign Secretary, James Cleverly.

The main business will be an Opposition Day debate on a motion in the name of the Official Opposition. Subject to be announced.

Wednesday 9 November

The House will sit at 11.30am on Wednesday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Chris Heaton-Harris.

Prime Minister’s questions will take place at 12 noon. The main business will be Backbench Business debates on:

  • Debate on a motion on the UK response to the human Rights and economic situation in Sri Lanka
  • General debate on levelling up rural Britain
