Monday 21 November
Questions
Members quizzed the government for 40 minutes on:
- energy supply shortfalls in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland
- survival rates for pancreatic cancer
- staff shortages in social care
- former Prime Ministers' allowances.
Legislation
Members debated the key principles of the Counsellors of State Bill and the Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding Bill) at second reading.
Regulations
Members considered regulations relating to Russia sanctions (1), (2).
In Grand Committee, work away from the chamber, members debated regulations on to the following topics:
Tuesday 22 November
The President of South Africa addressed members of both Houses of Parliament.
Questions
Members will question the government on:
- increased child hunger in schools
- NHS waiting times
- plans to bring forward the Renters Reform Bill
- NHS waiting lists.
Legislation
Members considered House of Commons changes to the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Bill in ‘ping pong’.
The Lords also continued line by line scrutiny of the Public Order Bill at committee stage.
Regulations
In Grand Committee, members debated the following energy bills regulations:
- support scheme
- relief scheme
- heat suppliers
- heat suppliers in Northern Ireland
- energy price guarantee.
Wednesday 23 November
Questions
Members questioned the government for 40 minutes on:
- suspension of government contracts with Bain & Company
- human rights defenders
- Tobacco Control Plan
- counter-terrorism legislation.
Legislation
The House of Lords scrutinised the Counsellors of State Bill at committee stage and all remaining stages.
The House had its first opportunity to debate the key principles and purpose of the Northern Ireland Troubles (Legacy and Reconciliation) Bill at second reading and will raise concerns in a 'motion to regret'.
Debates
In Grand Committee, work away from the chamber, members debated the following committee reports:
- Science and Technology: 'Battery strategy goes flat: Net-zero target at risk'
- Youth Unemployment: 'Skills for every young person'.
Thursday 24 November
Questions
Members questioned the government for 40 minutes on:
- adult social care complaints
- post-conflict reconstruction in Ukraine
- commitments to water quality
- FIFA World Cup: fan restrictions.
