Tuesday 11 October
Questions
The House of Lords questioned the government on:
- energy prices: prepayment meters
- the 200th anniversary of the Stockton to Darlington railway
- declining participation rates of young people in sports
- the risks and consequences of the deployment by Russia of a tactical nuclear weapon.
Legislation
Members debated the key principles and purpose of the Northern Ireland Protocol Bill at second reading.
Regulations
Away from the chamber in Grand Committee, the House considered regulations on:
- money laundering and terrorist financing
- motor fuel
- merchant shipping
- Terrorism Act 2000: search powers
- Warm Home Discount in Scotland.
Wednesday 12 October
Questions
Members quizzed the government for 40 minutes on:
- the use of health taxes in the wider fiscal system
- impact of fracking on energy costs
- major sporting events on free-to-air television
- recent events in Iran.
Legislation
Members further examined the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Bill at report stage.
In Grand Committee, the Lords began detailed scrutiny of the Seafarers’ Wages Bill at committee stage.
Regulations
Members considered regulations on Russia sanctions.
Statement
The Lords quizzed government following a statement on Ukraine.
Thursday 13 October
Questions
The House of Lords pressed the government on:
- public spending
- famine in the Horn of Africa
- meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal
- vacancies in social care.

In the chamber, the House of Lords debated:
