- use of philosophy at all education levels

The House quizzed the government following two statements on:
- the UK's response to Russia's invasion of UKraine
- asylum processing centres.
Legislation
Members of the House of Lords will have their first opportunity to debate the key principles of the Public Order Bill at second reading.
Wednesday 2 November

Members questioned the government for 40 minutes on:
- Ofwat penalising 11 water companies for failing to meet targets
- keeping schools operational for five days a week
- Avanti West Coast and the frequency and reliability of their train services
- conducting government business.

- recommendations of the Fan-Led Review of Football Governance.
Debates
Members of the House of Lords debated the following topics:
- stability in the financial markets and its impact on pensions, mortgages and rent.
- future of public service broadcasting in the year of the BBC's centenary.
Statement
The House of Lords questioned the government following a statement on Avian Influenza.

For one hour, members debated government progress on ensuring swift ambulance handovers.
Regulations
In Grand Committee, work away from the chamber, members considered regulations relating to the following areas:
