Here is an overview of debates scheduled in the Commons Chamber over the coming week. Please note, this business was announced in the Commons Chamber by the Leader of the House of Commons, Penny Mordaunt MP, on Thursday 29 June. Monday 3 July 

The House will sit at 2.30pm, starting with questions to the Home Secretary, Suella Braverman. 

The main business will be the second reading of the Economic Activity of Public Bodies (Overseas Matters) Bill.

Tuesday 4 July 

Proceedings will start at 11.30am on Tuesday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, Grant Shapps. 

The main business will be Estimates Day (4th Allotted Day):  

  • Department for Work and Pensions Ministry of Justice (Subject for debate: spending of the Ministry of Justice on His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service).

Wednesday 5 July 

The House will sit at 11.30am on Wednesday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Wales, David T C Davies. 

Prime Minister’s Questions will take place at 12 midday.  

The main business will be Estimates Day (5th Allotted Day):  

  • Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (Subject for debate: spending of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero on energy infrastructure)  
  • Department for Education (Subject for debate: spending of the Department for Education on adult education, post-16 education, further education and colleges)

Thursday 6 July 

The House will sit at 9.30am on Thursday, starting with questions to the Secretary of State for Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Thérèse Coffey. 

The main business will be: 

  • Proceedings on the Supple and Appropriation (Main Estimates) (No 2) Bill  
  • General debate on Building Safety and Social Housing, to mark six years since the Grenfell Tower Tragedy. 
  • Debate on the role and status of the commonwealth parliamentary association (the subject of this debate was determined by the Backbench Business Committee).
